Parkins Mill
Major Renovation
CB&I built temporary walls and removed most of the middle level walls to allow a large area to be used for kitchen, dining and great room areas. Part of the project involved cutting into the floor system and placing 5 steel I-beams to support the upper floor. You can view the placing of the beams in our Parkins Mill Case Study in the News section. After the beams were in place CB&I raised the floor in the large "attic" area and then framed 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.

Golf cart storage barn renovation/upfit.
- This old farm-use barn was renovated to house 100 golf carts for an exclusive gated golf community in Mill Spring, NC. The lower level required reinforcement before the main level structure could be finished. The contract included rebuilding a stairwell, rebuilding and rehanging original doors, building custom walls and drop ceilings that house golf cart charging units, and installing cabinets.
Greenville, SC
Three-story house restructuring
- cb&i performed a variety of repair, remodel, and renovation tasks on this residence. The rear roof needed repair at a leak-point where the wood had nearly totally rotted away. Two major areas of the floor system were also sagging significantly and required repair. cb&i installed via pocket framing a set of W8 steel I-beams that now support the systems at acceptable levels. On the third floor, above both these floor repairs a new master bathroom was built to customer specifications. A load-bearing wall was removed in the stairwell and the load was re-distributed to allow for a wider dual-access staircase. cb&i also built a custom radius bed stand in the master bedroom.
Greenville, SC
2400 framed square feet
- cb&i began by removing the roof from this home and building a floor system alongside the old ceiling joists. A 16/12 pitch was chosen to provide space in the new second floor adequate for a master bedroom suite, a child’s bedroom, and a laundry room. A dining room was also added to the front of the home on the ground level.
Greenville, SC
- cb&i removed and rebuilt this home’s garage in order to add a stairwell and children’s play room above the new garage. The attic allowed space for a hallway leading into an office area above a separate second level addition. This addition to the front of the home added a new kitchen on the first level.
